Cunard unveils transformative makeover for Queen Elizabeth

Cunard is excited to announce a major makeover for Queen Elizabeth, as she gets ready for her highly anticipated inaugural Caribbean season from Miami and her debut Alaska sailings from Seattle in 2025.

This significant refurbishment will take place from 25 February to 13 March 2025, ensuring Queen Elizabeth is ready for her new adventures, including her inaugural Alaska season from Seattle in June and her first Caribbean voyage from Miami on 16 October.

In a historic first for Cunard, one of their iconic ships will spend an entire season based in Miami. Queen Elizabeth will offer a special series of roundtrip Caribbean cruises, with voyages lasting from 9 to 28 nights. Guests can look forward to relaxing getaways to famous destinations such as Montego Bay, Jamaica; San Juan, Puerto Rico; and St John’s, Antigua.

The makeover will include updated interiors and exteriors that blend calm and energy. Signature spaces like the Commodore Club, Queens Room, Panorama Pool Club, Garden Lounge, and The Pavilion will be refreshed, offering guests relaxing spaces with ocean views or enjoy al fresco dining.

Queen Elizabeth’s upgrade will take the Grills experience—Cunard’s signature luxury offering—to the next level. Guests in the exclusive Grills suites will enjoy refined interiors and exteriors, featuring elegant furnishings, stylish details, and a design focused on providing the highest level of comfort and sophistication.

The Grills dining experience will be enhanced with an exclusive menu designed by Michelin-starred chef Michel Roux for Grills guests. After Queen Elizabeth’s refurbishment, this special three-course Gala Evening menu, available throughout the Cunard fleet, will feature expertly prepared dishes that offer an exceptional culinary experience at sea.

Michel Roux said, “Creating new menus for Cunard’s Grills guests is a real honour. It lets me combine my love for fine dining with the elegance and sophistication that the Cunard Grills experience is known for. Every dish is made to highlight the best ingredients, making each meal as special as the journey. I’m excited to continue this wonderful partnership with Cunard in 2025.”

A highlight of the refurbishment is the new Pavilion Wellness Café, which first appeared on Cunard’s Queen Anne. This wellness-focused venue will offer plant-based dishes along with sustainably sourced meats, fish, and dairy for breakfast, lunch, and daytime dining.

Guests can also enjoy the Harper’s Bazaar Wellness at Sea programme, featuring three-day packages focused on relaxation, energy, or recovery for a rejuvenating experience at sea.

Katie McAlister, President of Cunard, said: “As Queen Elizabeth prepares for her debut seasons in the Caribbean and Alaska, this transformation blends elegance with modern comforts, creating an unmatched guest experience. We’re especially excited to introduce the exclusive Gala Evening menu by Michelin-starred chef Michel Roux, which will elevate the Grills dining experience.
