The health and safety of our guests and crew is of utmost importance to us and we continue to closely monitor and assess the dynamic and evolving Coronavirus (COVID-19) situation.
We are using the latest information available to us to make decisions that mitigate risks and actively protect the health, safety and wellbeing of everyone on board. We sincerely thank all of our guests around the world for their continued support and understanding as we respond to this unexpected situation.
It remains the case that any guests or crew who have travelled from or through mainland China, Hong Kong and Macau within 14 days of embarkation will not be permitted to board our ships.
We are aware of an increasing number of Indian and Pacific Ocean ports of call denying entry for those who have travelled from or through (including airport transits) Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, Japan, Republic of Korea, or Malaysia. Those guests who have travelled from or through these countries within 14 days before embarkation will be subject to enhanced pre-boarding screening, to manage this risk.
Please be aware that any guests who are given permission to board following this enhanced screening may be subject to additional and ongoing active surveillance and measurement throughout the voyage. Those guests should also be aware of the potential for other mandatory inspections beyond our control from port authorities and also the potential for refused entry.
For those that have not travelled yet, in light of the enhanced pre-boarding screening measures now in place, you may wish to consider making alternative travel arrangements if you plan to travel through any of these countries within 14 days of embarkation because of associated risks.
Given the serious nature of these circumstances, false responses on pre-boarding documents will result in immediate grounds for denial of boarding and may also face additional legal consequences. Guests should be prepared to disclose documentation to evidence travel history.

As a result of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) situation, Queen Elizabeth’s Asia programme that was due to commence in March has been cancelled and will be replaced with an extended season in Australia.
All Queen Elizabeth voyages that feature itineraries over 8 March 2020 through to 15 May 2020 are cancelled. Those guests who were due to join Queen Elizabeth on one of these voyages will have their booking fully refunded.
For those who have booked flights or additional packages directly through Cunard, all aspects will be refunded. If guests booked flights or additional packages via a travel agent or third-party tour operator, they should contact them directly. If any arrangements have been booked independently then guests should contact their travel insurance provider for details of how to submit a claim.
If guests are unable to recover charges incurred due to this unavoidable and unexpected cancellation, we would encourage you to contact us so that this can be discussed further.
Queen Elizabeth’s new extended season in Australia will comprise two six-night Tasmania voyages, two 11-night New Zealand voyages and her first ever 27-night full circumnavigation of Australia. Queen Elizabeth will then sail a 25-night Transpacific crossing from Sydney to Vancouver via New Caledonia, Hawaii, Los Angeles and San Francisco.
Full details of Queen Elizabeth’s new itineraries will be published on Friday 21 February at 9am in Sydney Australia (10pm UK time Thursday 20th February). Queen Elizabeth’s 2020 Alaska programme is unaffected by these changes and will continue as published.
Cunard will resume Queen Elizabeth’s Asia programme in September this year as already published.
Queen Mary 2
Queen Mary 2 arrived in Fremantle, Australia, on the 18 February. She will set sail from Fremantle on 19 February for an Australian itinerary, as follows:
- Monday 24 February Darwin, Australia
- Tuesday 25 February Darwin, Australia
- Saturday 29 February Yorkeys Knob, Australia
- Following Yorkeys Knob the ship will sail to Airlie Beach on her original schedule, after which the voyage remains unchanged.
Travel health advisories.
The health and safety of our guests and crew is of utmost importance to us. Although the risk to our guests and crew is low, the coronavirus situation is dynamic and evolving.
We are very closely monitoring and assessing the impact of the latest developments and health advisories, as well as various travel and entry restrictions which are increasingly impacting ship itineraries and connecting travel. We are actively seeking to mitigate these risks to our guests and crew, and are making appropriate adjustments to our operations to protect all onboard our ships.

Our medical experts are coordinating closely with the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the World Health Organization (WHO) and Public Health England to implement control measures for our ships.
Pre-boarding screening will be conducted for all guests, crew and visitors in all embarkation ports with further medical evaluation if necessary.
As part of these measures, guests and crew who have travelled from or through mainland China, Hong Kong and Macau within 14 days of embarkation will not be permitted to board our ships.
In addition, reflecting notifications from the UK Department of Health and Social Care and Public Health England (see www.gov.uk/coronavirus) as a further precautionary measure at this time, anyone who has travelled from or through (including airport transits) Taiwan, Thailand, Japan, Republic of Korea, Singapore or Malaysia within 14 days of embarkation will be subject to enhanced pre-boarding screening to determine whether permission is given to board.
All persons who, within 14 days before embarkation, have had close contact with anyone suspected or diagnosed as having coronavirus, or who is currently subject to health monitoring for possible exposure to coronavirus, will not be permitted to board our ships.
All guests and crew who visit our onboard Medical Centre with symptoms of any respiratory illness will be risk assessed for coronavirus and action taken as necessary. Environmental disinfection onboard will be performed in accordance with our regular stringent cleaning and sanitation protocols.
As well as working to protect everyone onboard our ships, we are seeking to minimise any possible impact on our guests, their bookings and travel arrangements. We will communicate updates and advise guests and travel agents of any changes as soon as possible.
